Collaborative Law Practice

Resolution Options We Offer:

Other Non-Litigation Settlement Services

In addition to offering services as a neutral Mediator and as a Collaborative Lawyer, we also offer other non-litigation settlement services:

  • Drafting property settlement agreements or parenting and support agreements negotiated by the parties themselves:
    • Some people feel comfortable negotiating with one another directly about the issues facing their family and are able to reach their own resolutions based on what they feel is fair and workable.
    • In those cases, we are available to represent you to prepare the written legal agreements you need to document the agreements reached by direct negotiation and to do the legal work necessary to obtain a divorce decree or the entry of any other appropriate Court Orders.
    • We can also assist with the preparation of any deeds, title transfers, or other legal documents necessary to effectuate the distribution of property on which you have agreed.
  • Assisting in the negotiation of and preparation of Pre-Nuptial Agreements:
    • We can represent you in the negotiation of the terms of a Pre-Nuptial Agreement. We provide advice about the legal ramifications and results of marriage and ways in which you and your future spouse can specifically define the "rules" that will govern your particular marriage.
    • We work with you and the other party's attorney to negotiate terms that are acceptable to both parties and to create a written Pre-Nuptial Agreement.
    • If the other party chooses not to retain legal counsel and you and he/she negotiate the terms of your Pre-Nuptial Agreement directly with one another, we can represent you to prepare the written Agreement for signature by both parties.
  • Representing and advising parties who are working with another mediator to try to resolve their issues:
    • It is usually recommended by mediators that parties retain independent legal counsel to advise them about their legal rights and to answer their legal questions while they are in the process of mediation. We are available to assist you in that role.
    • Once you and the other party have reached a tentative agreement through the mediation process, we can work with the other party's attorney to prepare the formal legal agreements and to do the legal work necessary to obtain a divorce decree or the entry of any other appropriate Court Orders to implement your mediated agreement. We then also assist in the preparation of any deeds, title transfers, required Court Orders or other legal documents necessary to effectuate the distribution of property on which you have agreed.
